⌨️ How The Score Works

WPM counts only the characters that match the passage in the same position. Skip or add one letter and everything after it reads as wrong until you backspace back to it — the number collapses even though your words look right.

Raw WPM on the result card ignores that and counts everything you typed. The big number is the corrected one.

Accuracy counts every forward keystroke you ever made. Backspacing repairs your WPM but never your accuracy.

The clock starts on your first keystroke, not when the page opens. Pasting is blocked.

↺ Restarting And Your Best

↺ Reset restarts the same passage. ↻ New Text swaps in a different one. Changing the Time pills or switching modes also restarts — each of those throws away the run in progress with no result.

On No Limit, the result card appears only when you type the passage all the way to the end. Stop early and nothing is scored.

Your personal best is the highest corrected WPM, kept in this browser only — never sent to the site, never seen by anyone else, and gone if you clear your browsing data.

💡 Tips

• ✍️ Free Type scores every character you type, has no accuracy, and never sets a personal best.
• Emptying the Free Type box restarts its timer from zero.
